I Will Not Be Shaken

So David and his men continued down the road, and Shimei kept pace with them on a nearby hillside, cursing and throwing stones and dirt at David. (2 Samuel 16:13)

King David had trolls, too.

They will mock. They will jeer. They will lie, conspire, gloat, and slander.

Do not be intimidated. Do not be hurt. Do not cower, falter, waver, or doubt. NEVER bow to the pressure and threats of the wicked, nor hide your light under a basket.

Remember to Whom you belong. Keep your chin up, and your eyes lifted to heaven. Be as David, a King among men, continuing on the path set before him and placing his trust in God alone, regardless of the news and naysayers that surrounded him.

As we see, three chapters later, that same troll returned in repentance after David was reinstated to his rightful throne, and David extended mercy.

The Lord WILL vindicate his anointed, and he doesn’t need our help to do it. And I praise God that he will use the coming events to convict and turn the hearts of many to him.

Fear not Little Flock.

Psalm 62:6-8

Let all that I am wait quietly before God,
for my hope is in him.

He alone is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress where I will not be shaken.

My victory and honor come from God alone.
He is my refuge, a rock where no enemy can reach me.

O my people, trust in him at all times.
Pour out your heart to him,
for God is our refuge.

Romans 12:14-21

Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.

If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.

Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.

Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.
